About

The Tree of Life Men’s Club is much, much more than a social organization. We are committed to working together with the entire congregation and the Rabbi to benefit the community, our synagogue and our own lives. We do that with avodah (service and prayer), kehillah (community participation) and tzedakah (charity).

Annual membership dues are only $36.

What We Do

  • Provide candy bars for Simcha Torah

  • Yom Hashoah candle distribution (with help of 7th graders)

  • Help with synagogue events, like the Congregational Picnic

MEN’S CLUB’S SHRED-A-BAG FUNDRAISER IS BACK!

Is it time to get rid of old files and records that have been accumulating for months or years, including personal &  confidential papers like tax returns, contracts, banks statements, checks, utility bills, and invoices cluttering up your basement, attic, or storage area?

Thanks to the Tree of Life Congregation Men’s Club, here is a great and easy way to eliminate the clutter, help the environment, and support TOL all at the same time!

  • For a suggested minimum donation to TOL of $30 per bag, the TOL Men’s Club will deliver to your address as many bags as you request.
  • You fill the bag and seal it with the bag’s easy self-stick fold over. Each bag has a maximum capacity of 30 lbs. or approximately one 15”x12”x 10” banker’s box.
  • You can then drop off the bags at Steel City Shredding’s location at: 3220 Penn Ave., Pgh, PA 15201, in the Strip District during these two weekdays: July 23, 2025 or August 21, 2025 from the hours of 10 am to 4 pm. (NOTE: You will be notified of any schedule changes)
  • If you prefer, a Men’s Club member will be happy to come to your home; pick up your bags; and deliver them to Steel City Shredding on your behalf, at no additional charge!!
  • E-WASTE NOTE: Steel City Shredding is running a special on their e-waste disposal services for our donors: $15/cell phone; $20/laptop or tablet; $25/computer tower. TOL Men’s Club will not handle these items. You must self-deliver and pay for e-waste separately.

You can purchase as many bags as you wish at the suggested minimum donation of $30 per bag.

EMAIL QUESTIONS OR BAG PICKUP REQUESTS TO: mensclub@treeoflifepgh.org
Please support TOL and sign up by Monday, July 21, 2025.

Steel City Shredding is a 97-year-old locally-owned and Tree of Life affiliated family business, graciously donating the bags and its nationally certified shredding services.
